Is it called “hiking” when it’s on the sand with bare feet and a cocktail? This weekend, the crew escaped to Topsail Island. In between beverages, we made it to the Surf City pier and back, four or five miles total. Nice, quiet, winter beach time.
If you don’t know about them, the Topsail missile towers date back to WWII and add an interesting dimension to the landscape.
Other attractions include the sea turtle hospital (closed for the season til April), seafood markets (be sure to ask for the local catch) and sunsets. This week has seen massive withdrawals from all the relaxation.
